Snow!

We have had complete travel chaos here in the UK this week. We've had a few inches of snow across some of the country (NOT Malvern!) and everything ground to a halt. Can you imagine if we'd had the 2ft of snow they had in Virginia and DC?? Mind you Washington DC ground to a halt too, but they maybe had a better excuse!! We had training running at Farnborough this week and I had lots of calls and e-mails to say it had taken 10 hours to go 10 miles on Monday night. This was not good news as we were driving to Fleet to meet former-POQI and the family for dinner en-route to our Heathrow airport hotel! Everyone was telling us we'd be insane to even attempt going near Fleet, but Paul phoned and reassured us that the main roads were clear, we didn't need to detour around half the country and to basically not be wimps!!

So, we're now sitting in the Lounge at Heathrow airport, drinking champagne by the bucket, listening to Christmas songs and looking forward to our trip to New York. One of the girls serving here is just back from there yesterday and said it was magical and exceedingly Christmassy after all the snow. Just what the Doctor ordered as I seem to have had a Christmas Spirit Bypass this year!!
