Potluck

It was our office Holiday potluck lunch and Selfish Santa gift exchange today. Due to a very inconvenient customer meeting(!) we changed venue from the office to POQI's house, and a good time was had by all. There was a great array of dishes (I made my signature chili), all of which were very tasty and in quantities enough to feed a small but ravenous army! Dawn brought the blender and after a quick diversion to a liquor store (and I have NO idea why everyone assumed I would know where it was... but its beside the Giant foodstore!) we had mango daiquiris on the go.

The Selfish Santa gift exchange was a lot of fun. Basically everyone buys a gift, puts it in the pile and draws a number to determine the order in which we pick gifts. You then have the choice of unwrapping a gift from the pile or stealing someone elses gift. There was a reluctance in some cases to steal due to the dubious quality of the gifts!! Except for the wine which was stolen over again, and the "How to work 4 hours a week" book (my contribution) which seemed to appeal! We all roared with laughter when Dawn picked a gift bag, opened it and pulled out a bottle of wine called "Bitch"! She seemed delighted with the Karma of that, and no-one dared steal it from her!
