Where are we going? I thought Winchcombe was that way....

We had a real laugh with Hils and Paul on Friday. It was so good to see them! We had arranged to meet in a pub roughly halfway between them and us. We hadn't been there before and duly entered all the information into the satnav as we have learned that maritals are sure to happen in pressure situations like trying to map read in the dark on the way to somewhere neither of us has been (even though I'm actually not bad at map reading!). The &%$#?! satnav took us on a minor detour...off the major road, onto a B road, onto a dirt track before finally depositing us back onto the main road about 1/2 mile from where we had left it! I am not joking when I say it was a good 2 mile detour down single track road, in the dark and in the fog!! It was having a laugh! We weren't though!! It took us 50 minutes to do a 35 minute journey. Grrrrrr.

It turns out that Paul and Hils had been having similar problems with their satnav, although I think they avoided the dirt tracks! (lucky things!)

As an unadvertised extra we got a sideshow with dinner! Our waitress was from Poland and was threatening spankings and no pudding if we didn't eat our veg. Stephen was looking a little squirmy at this point as nothing green and veg-like has passed his lips in years!! I'm hoping this was because he wanted dessert, and not... Anyway, the rest of us did sterling work on covering for him! She was quite a character an kept us hugely amused over dinner.
